PCU Registered Nurse - Travel Position

Join our healthcare team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Portsmouth, VA. This role is perfect for experienced nurses looking to work in a pulmonary telemetry stepdown unit, providing specialized care for patients needing more attention than a standard medical/telemetry unit but less than intensive care. Make a significant impact in patient care with our dedicated team.

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend and holiday
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
• Start Date: May 5, 2025

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia or compact license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in healthcare jobs
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
• No local candidates accepted (within 50 miles of the facility)

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and create care plans
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policies
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
• Utilize the AACN Synergy Model to maintain patient stability
• Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with confidence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care
