Sign-On-Bonus $15,000 Days Shift(Min 2yrs RN exp) and $20,000 Nights Shift(Min 2yrs RN exp). Relocation Bonus available(if applicable).
Methodist Children's Hospital's Pediatric Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU), is a specialized unit dedicated to caring for infants and children with congenital heart defects. Specially skilled nurses and techs provide care for patients with heart failure, after cardiac catheterizations and after surgical repairs.
What You Will Do In Your Role:

With over 900 beds, Methodist Hospital offers a broad range of specialties including cardiology, oncology, bone marrow transplants, emergency medicine, neurosciences, maternity care, gynecology and orthopedics. We are proud to be the largest provider of the lifesaving ECMO Program in San Antonio, are home to the largest robotics program in the world, and our Adult Blood Cancer and Stem Cell Transplant unit has become the first program to receive FACT Accreditation in North America.

Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care by the nature and specific requirements of the department. The care is consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care. We use established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. Job Summary and QualificationsThe Pediatric Registered Nurse is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family-centered nursing services providing safe and effective care to the pediatric population. The Pediatric RN is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department.
What you will do in this role:
. You will work collaboratively with the clinical medical provider, to empower children and their families to make informed decisions regarding their health care, including health promotion and prevention of disease or complications
. You will provide education to the patient and/or parent/guardian in a manner that the recipient understands in order to contribute to positive patient care outcome and patient satisfaction
. You will maintain and review patients' records including posting tests and examination results
. You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
. You will check rooms daily for necessary supplies
. You will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)
What qualifications you may need:
. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
. A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
. A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Health Care Provider is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date
. Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience with pediatric patients preferred
